About Me

Hi, I am Tanisha Smith!

I founded Clear Day Reading Solutions because I believe every child deserves the "lightbulb moment" that comes with mastering literacy. With 10 years of classroom teaching experience spanning Kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th grade, I have a deep understanding of how reading skills evolve as children grow. I've seen firsthand how the right intervention can change a student’s entire academic trajectory.

My Expertise

My approach is backed by a rigorous academic foundation. I hold three degrees:

• B.A. in Elementary Education

• M.S. in Elementary Education

• M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction

I am also currently completing my Associate Level Certification in Orton-Gillingham, an evidence-based approach designed to help students who struggle with word recognition and spelling. My background is focused on helping students regain their confidence and find joy in books.

My Philosophy

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every session I design is:

• Evidence-Based: Utilizing the Science of Reading and proven multi-sensory strategies.

• Student-Centered: Building on your child’s unique strengths and interests.

• Encouraging: Creating a safe space where it’s okay to make mistakes and grow.

When I’m not tutoring, you can usually find me spending time with my family. I look forward to helping your reader thrive!
